Curriculum Overview
At Thinkerland Preschool, we use the Nurturing Early Learners Framework (NEL) to plan for our curriculum. The 6 learning areas hold utmost importance to us as we feel that it is necessary for children to learn and develop holistically. The NEL framework allows us to provide opportunities to children to grow holistically.

Teaching Techniques
Teaching Technique 1: Documentation
Documentation is the process of including samples of children’s work at several different stages of completion along with comments and explanation of activity. This is to track children’s learning and thinking.

(Seitz, 2008)
Facilitation is the process of providing children with directions and feedback to guide in the task.
The video displayed few facilitation strategies such as asking questions and repeating what the children had shared.

(MacNaughton & Williams, 2009)
Teaching Technique 2: Facilitation
Teaching Technique 1: Documentation

Teacher Jasmine documented the children's answers by writing it down on a paper. This allowed the children to share their thoughts with their peers and learn from one another.
2:08- 3:00

Teacher Jasmine changed the camera angle to document the artwork of the children by taking pictures.
3:16- 3:54

During the presentation, Teacher Jasmine changed the camera angle to document the process of the children sharing their work.
4:07- 6:00
Teaching Technique 2: Facilitation

0:27 - 0:43
During this facilitation, Teacher Jasmine was showing a video about endangered animals to the children. She would stop the video to facilitate learning by asking the children simple questions to check their understanding.

1:18- 1:26
Teacher Jasmine paused the video to ask the children what is happening in the picture. She received the responses from the children and built on their understanding of the situation.

1:48- 2:00
Teacher Jasmine explains the difficult terms in the video and facilitate the learning of the children by providing an example that was relatable to the children. This is to ensure that children will fully understand the concept of pollution.

3:15- 3:54
Teacher Jasmine facilitates the drawing and writing activity by helping children with difficult words and sentences. The children were required to present their artwork and explain their artwork. Teacher Jasmine then asked the other peers questions and reiterated on the points.
